PHOENICIA. Berytus. Elagabalus, 218-222. Tetrassarion (Bronze, 23 mm, 9.87 g, 6 h). IMP CAES M AVR ANTONINVS AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Elagabalus to right, seen from behind. Rev. COL IVL AVG FEL / BE-R Front view of hexastyle temple with shield in pediment and acroteria along roofline; inside, Poseidon standing, left, holding dolphin in his right arm and resting on trident held with his left, and placing foot on rock; below, central stairway. BMC 224-226. Rouvier 577. RPC VI, 8343. A beautiful piece with lovely surfaces. Adjustment marks as made, otherwise, good very fine.
